Life has been so crazy! I'm on a break from creativity all together at the moment. Been doing a lot of "personal growth". The painful kind... But as always life turns out better in the end! I've been very focused on spending quality time with family including my fabulous husband and my daughter. We live with my mother right now and my younger brother who just had a baby with his girlfriend. The baby is adorable and has truly quenched my thirst for another child! I had baby fever again until he was born and now not only do I get to see the most adorable little baby, but I can give him back and get a full night's sleep too! Best of both worlds! I started a job and worked there for one week. It wasn't a good fit for me, so I had to quit. I have recently applied for another job and I'm waiting for them to do their background check before they make a decision on hiring me or not. I will be driving down town every day, but with my husband, so we'll get to spend more time together as we drive to and from work every day. Also, my daughter will be able to go back to the school that she loved so much before I became unemployed. That will be awesome too! I thought I could be a stay at home mom, but I cannot offer Emily what the school can, so it would be best for her if I went back to work and she was able to enjoy her friends again. Plus I would get the adult interaction I need and learn to succeed at something all my own. My husband will start his new job Sept. 1st and perhaps our lives can return to something close to normal! Yay!!!

Mark and Tiffany Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13740275488097248001noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196720185354645378.post-7329741152683048612009-06-15T17:06:00.008-05:002009-06-15T18:00:52.322-05:00Fun With Breakable Furniture
Hello! Well, we're moved in for the most part. Of course we still have all the teeny tiny little details to fine tune and some minor unpacking still to be done as well as pictures to hang, but we're getting more and more settled every day. It has been a challenge to live with another family, but we seem to be ironing out all the details as we go.

One really cool thing that has come of this move is that I now have my very own spot in our bedroom to sit and do my hair and makeup. Mark and I found this cute little desk on Craigslist. When we went to pick it up, Mark tried and tried to make it fit in the car. Finally after all his effort to make it fit, he sat it down and it just fell apart. We just stood there and laughed. God gave us our solution. Although it wasn't exactly what we wanted, it helped Mark to realize that the desk really wasn't constructed very well. We put the pieces in the trunk and went on home, laughing the entire way. A few weeks later, I have this adorable rebuilt and refinished little desk and vanity stool in our room. I love it! I even bought some cute fabric (Ginseng by Joel Dewberry for Free Spirit) to recover the vanity stool that I got from my grandmother's house before the estate sale.

I'm looking forward to Father's Day weekend. I've got a special project in the works for Mark. I'll show it off in my next post! Hope everyone enjoys their week!

P.S. And Emily loves this show on Noggin called Lazytown. If anyone has ever watched this show, you cannot help but notice that the hero (Sportacus - not SpArtacus) is wearing this skin-tight body suit. And you also cannot help but notice that he looks damn good in it! So I was curious and did some searching... Come to find out, he is also the creator of the show and a professional athlete (duh - rock hard body!). Here are some pictures I found to share with the ladies and link to his info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magn%C3%BAs_Scheving. Good show for kids... and for Mom! :)

Mark and Tiffany Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13740275488097248001noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196720185354645378.post-364877586707183132009-04-28T12:21:00.007-05:002009-04-28T12:51:47.180-05:00Storage and DecoratingI'm preparing for the move and have organization on the brain! I've found tons of beautiful old tin containers on Etsy that I'm thinking would be beautiful on my bookshelf for storing crafting supplies. I'm going with a shabby chic look that will eventually go in Emily's bathroom when we own a house again. I found some adorable pictures from a lovely Etsy seller kastex at http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6941825! Check them out! We just signed the lease on the house and we're moving in on Friday! Can't wait!

As I sit here writing this blog we are all so happy and so thankful. The mood is much elevated. We are all going to have our stuff and our privacy and space back. Yippeeeeee! :)

Tomorrow we'll be buying boxes (no one is giving them away on Craigslist anymore!) and starting packing what we have here. It's the first time in a long time I have packed with joy in my heart. Emily is very happy to know that she will be getting all of her toys back too. The back yard in huge, so it will easily accommodate the three dogs. My brother even likes his room and will have his own bathroom! But it's at my grandmother's house. The one who passed away in December. We live in her room. Sleep in her bed. Use her closet, her bathroom. See everything the way it was before she died. Did I mention that Emily is sleeping in our room too? Totally not romantic at all! The really good news is that I'm pretty sure we found a house for us all to live comfortably in finally. It's ginormous, but we can all breathe now and not be reminded of our loss on a daily basis.
I've also been playing the stay at home mom. Wow, my hat is off to any and every mother who has ever done this. It's extremely challenging. I don't know how many times I just wanted to strangle Emily.
I haven't been doing much creative stuff lately because I don't have a work area anymore (or uninterrupted time), but I will in this new house and I'm really looking forward to it! I will have a space of my own to put all my goodies and sit and play when the mood strikes without having to dig through boxes! I've been getting more and more inspired lately, so I'm ready to get creative again. Yay!!! Keep your fingers crossed for us. The owner is considering our lease offer right now...Mark and Tiffany Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13740275488097248001noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196720185354645378.post-9015402518220892562009-03-01T03:17:00.006-06:002009-03-01T03:24:31.342-06:00New Shop Items

I'm really excited about my new shop items. We were talking about our ideas and inventions and he told me about a show he had seen on the Discover channel. One was about this guy that gathers manure from various farms and molds the manure into cute little statues. You sit said cute little statue on your lawn and it fertilizes your grass! He sells them for around $10 each. Manure for sale...
Then he told me about another guy who works at a walnut factory where they shell and package walnuts. This brilliant man came up with a way to make a coffin out of walnut shells! The shells are mashed all together to make a coffin that will break down once your loved one is buried... Do everything you have to do in advance, listen to Jack Johnson, move slowly so you don't miss a thing, worship God and believe 100%, love everyone around you no matter what they say or do and be peaceful. As long as you can keep stress out of your life, you're golden. Just don't let stress in! Don't speed when you drive. Don't get angry at people for doing stupid stuff - you do it too! Be more patient and more tolerant. Remind yourself that everyone does have their own battle. Pray for those who aggravate you. Be like God and love everyone! Most of all have a steady diet of Jack Johnson - he's got the right sound and the right lyrics and he is a person who lives his life on the right path.
Have a wonderful day!Mark and Tiffany Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13740275488097248001noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196720185354645378.post-10527535310927916072009-02-21T17:39:00.002-06:002009-02-21T17:43:18.617-06:00NannyI just posted my latest tattoo on Facebook's group Tattoos Are Sexy and cried... again... as I typed the meaning behind it. I really miss Nanny. This week I got to go into her closet and choose clothes and accessories to take with me. I was fortunate enough to nab a beautiful vintage clutch and cape. What treasures and I can't wait to have an occasion to use them! I realized that my grandmother was very much a little girl inside when it came to her pajamas and gowns. Everything was top of the line beautiful. Soft, silky, floral, lace... If only the woman to whom these possessions belonged was still here to wear them...Mark and Tiffany Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13740275488097248001noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196720185354645378.post-24639666549160473172009-02-13T06:21:00.002-06:002009-02-13T06:26:00.197-06:00It's Friday, you ain't got no job... LOL! Every time I think about it being Friday guess what pops into my head...?
It's Friday and I have a job. A real job I have to go to and I'm sitting here on the sofa delaying getting ready. I am working on several projects right now that I would rather work on than go to work! I'm putting together a beautiful shabby chic rosary, a cute clutch, some blingy vintage jewelry, a book mark... who knows what else I could come up with! Once I'm in the mood, look out. AND I'M IN THE MOOD!
Stay tuned for some new posts to my shop. I've got some vintage treasure and a handmade goody or two... you just never know...
Happy Valentines Day everyone!
TMark and Tiffany Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13740275488097248001noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196720185354645378.post-81281243062932298992008-12-31T10:46:00.003-06:002008-12-31T11:17:42.479-06:00It's been such a long time since my last entry, where do I start!?
Even though I was laid off, my husband and I were faced with the fact that I had to get back to work for survival. Luckily my prior boss received an email that was sent out to the entire company from my current boss saying she needed an assistant ASAP. I applied and was offered the job, so I accepted. So far, so good. My new boss is a very cool lady. She really cracks me up and is so caring. She's also very much the micro-manager. At first it bothered me and I would think to myself, "Is it just me, or is she not being very nice...?" Now, I just look at her little sticky notes and chuckle. I've learned that it doesn't pay to make an issue out of every little thing. I even find her notes cute now!
Beginning in November, my grandmother "Nanny" was admitted to the hospital AGAIN for a fracture in her spine. She had a procedure done that didn't completely work out and went into rehabilitation. Well, not only did she not become rehabilitated, she became very ill and ultimately had to have emergency surgery. The surgery was successful and all signs were that she would be OK. She was not. She passed away December 29 th. I am grateful that God gave her the peace that she needed. She was in pain and on pain medication 100% of the time. Even though she could not speak, all you had to do was see the look on her face to know that she was hurting. I will always miss her and love her.
On a lighter note, I am thrilled to report that almost every item purchased for Christmas was handmade! I can't remember the exceptions, so don't ask. Each recipient was so delighted with their gift and commented on how thoughtful it was. It really gave much pleasure to see every one's happiness. I wanted to make all the gifts myself, but with a full time job it's pretty tough. So I just hunted around on Etsy and found something special for everyone! I made and KEPT the handmade pledge!
I am hot to trot for terrariums these days. Low maintenance is the way to go for me. I am notoriously known as the plant killer by those who know me well. They have all learned a long time ago to never ever buy a living thing for me. I forget it's there and requires maintenance. But these adorable terrariums are the answer to my yearning for greenery in the great indoors. Check out the Etsy shop madebymavis here: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5836556. There are a few other shops that have them, but this is by far my favorite. The coolest part is the itty bitty houses and such that you can add to your terrarium to really make it your little happy place. These would make excellent gifts for just about anyone too!
My only resolution this new year is to write more posts. So I'll holler at y'all soon!
TiffanyMark and Tiffany Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13740275488097248001noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3196720185354645378.post-71138483624499014762008-09-22T10:48:00.002-05:002008-09-22T10:55:16.413-05:00Happy Anniversary
Today I had planned on firing up the ol sewing machine, but I had forgotten that we are celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary instead! Yesterday was the actual date, but we chose not to get a babysitter and instead to spend the next day together while Emily is in school. So today I'm thinking about how happy I am that Mark and I are together and still happy. We are very fortunate to have such a connection. We will go have lunch and watch a movie together and then go pick Emily up from school. Tomorrow I will play around with my sewing machine and see what happens. Fresh goods! This time it's all me... :) It has been a long time coming. I finally got my "studio" set up in the dining room of my apartment! I had a short period of time after my layoff that was non-productive, but as soon as my husband told me I had to get another full time job in order for us to survive, my creativity suddenly resurfaced. I found some pretty sea coral stamps and dreamed up these pretty plaques that I've been working on. I also hit the jackpot with a HUGE lot of old jewelry (whole and pieces) from which I made some new jewelry. I always seem to get my inspiration from needing jewelry for an outfit. I will usually make some earrings and then the rest will fall into place. I am so happy to have something made with my own hands to show off!
Peace and Love - TiffanyMark and Tiffany Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13740275488097248001noreply@blogger.com3
